i went to see “ricky and the flash” today. i was swept up in a subtext of the script about dead or broken dreams. in the film, it is demonstrated that many of us experience the loss of dreams and make poor decisions. but as ricky whispers to her daughter when she freezes walking down the aisle at her brothers wedding- don’t do it… keep on walking. it struck me that this turning point in adulthood, where we have are faced with our own losses, and we have to decide to cut those losses and move forward is one of the golden moments in life.

please please please let me get what i want is a sentiment that is certainly global. not getting our wish is also a rite of passage. making mistakes and missteps is inevitable. to keep going is divine.

here’s to finding the courage to keep going.
