billy elliot Tutor: What does it feel like when you’re dancing? Billy: Don’t know. Sorta feels good. Sorta stiff and that, but once I get going… then I like, forget everything. And… sorta disappear. Sorta disappear. Like I feel a change in my whole body. And I’ve got this fire in my body. I’m just there. Flyin’ like a bird. Like electricity. Yeah, like electricity.
i always loved that scene from “billy elliot” when he is auditions for the ballet school and his unbridled energy stunned, dazzled, and frightened the panel of judges overseeing the tryouts. he loses himself in the rhythm and the motion that flows within and throughout his being. the part of him that is most primal is the very thing that propels him up and above the ordinary around him.
parallels for sure. and i find that today i am less cocksure, less impenetrable, less fearless, and less unabashed.
but i am still blessed with inspiration. i channel something much grander than my dreams.

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me’. Erma Bombeck
there is a yearning
it swirls through me like a westerly wind
warming and bewitching
testing and stretching the status quo
will the hubris blow away that which is no longer needed
or will the winds whoosh me away
am i still
am i who i am supposed to be
is it important
