real and random resolutions

if not now.... when????

if not now…. when????

was scrounging online for some inspiration for the beginning of a new year. came across a couple of sites full of delights.

firstly i got the pic from the strand book store nyc blog. i need to stay connected to my true goal- becoming a man… the hardest and most rewarding adventure i have ever embarked upon.

secondly i found a post about random new year’s resolutions which i am reposting from “the bold italic” cuz i really love a pinch of silly and spoonful of sublie with my cuppa joe. hope you find some reason to smile and to think outside your own box…

here you go……

Learn all the words to “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”

I’m never going to use my credit card in person.

MY FRIEND AND I AGREED TO GET IUD’S THIS YEAR. NOTHING SAYS FRIENDSHIP LIKE GETTING SHIT SHOVED INTO YOUR CERVIX IN THE NAME OF AVOIDING MOTHERHOOD.

****************************************************************************************

Run my first marathon, the SF marathon, and raise funds for Girls on the Run Bay Area.

Write more. Get published.

****************************************************************************************

Move from the East Bay to SF.

****************************************************************************************

I WANT TO BE MORE POSITIVE IN 2015.

****************************************************************************************

Keep my backpack free of clutter.

****************************************************************************************

More sex. Being able to count how many times I’ve done the deed in a year on both hands is just sad.

I have an obsession with ramen. Dictionary.com (clearly the most valid and sophisticated dictionary) defines “obsession” as the domination of one’s thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc.  That is how I feel about ramen, but ramen of the top variety. Yes, Top Ramen. I have to give myself some credit, as I do fancy it up with vegetables and other important business, but I consume it more nights than not for dinner. And this is not because I cannot afford other items of food, but because I love it so. Visions of its Justin Timberlake hair-esque quality is enough to inspire me to leave work early. The time has come, to give up Top Ramen.

Not buy pants with no back pockets.

****************************************************************************************

GET A HOLD OF MY DEBT.

****************************************************************************************

I am determined to make 2015 a year where I really put myself first. Getting enough sleep, making it to the gym, running miles, experiencing the beauty and culture of San Francisco, and drinking more good beer and less PBR. Visiting new places, local and far. And perfecting one great meal, start to finish, salad to dessert.

****************************************************************************************

Quit smoking and lose weight.

****************************************************************************************

I seriously need to lighten up, on everything and everyone. Especially myself.

****************************************************************************************

To stop doing things for the money (jobs I hate) or other people (usually also jobs I hate). My resolution is to only do things that make me happy.

****************************************************************************************

BE A NICER PERSON… TO MYSELF.

****************************************************************************************

A friend and I both agreed our resolution would be to take one hour a day to dedicate to self care. We work too hard and need to take better care of ourselves.

****************************************************************************************

DO LESS.

****************************************************************************************

I try this every year, but maybe I will finally have the willpower to stop eating Hot Cheetos.

****************************************************************************************

I would like to decide whether or not I’m going to marry my girlfriend of more than 3 years.

****************************************************************************************

Be less flaky.

****************************************************************************************

No social media on Sundays.
